About The Lake

Welcome to The Lake, one of the original motels in Taupo and now one of the most unique.
The classic beach house style has been maintained, but with a modern twist to create one of New Zealand’s more unusual boutique motels.

The 5 motel units have been decorated in a Retro style using restored furniture from the 1960s and 70s, whilst still offering modern comforts. The location of The Lake is ideal, situated in 'the bird area' of Taupo it is just 220 metres from the lake front and within walking distance of Taupo's town centre and restaurants. Although central, it is surrounded by trees and is away from the main highway.

The Lake is privately owned and personally managed.
